Director

Linda Roffe, director of NWNannies, is a life-long educator and an authority on early childhood issues. Educated at Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York and New York University (Masters in Education), she worked for seven years as a teacher in the New York City Public Schools. After moving to Portland, she co-founded Northwest Nannies Inc, a nanny placement agency and an accredited Nanny school, and was its president for 31 years. Linda has served with numerous local, state and national organizations relating to children and families: she has been a board member of Baby Blues in Portland, an early childhood curriculum specialist hired by the State of Oregon, and a trainer for the national Newborn Care Specialist Association. She has taught numerous seminars, including some about incorporating the arts and sciences into a young child’s life.  Linda has appeared on radio, television (such as AM Northwest) and in print (The Oregonian and others).

Linda’s career echoes her deep belief in the importance of warm, loving, well-trained childcare providers who enrich the lives of young children and their families.

Tena Graham, assistant director of NWNannies, is a graduate of Washington State University, where she studied Psychology with a minor in Early Childhood Education. For fourteen years she was the Placement Advisor at Northwest Nannies Inc where she was the premier “matchmaker” to help clients find a nanny in hundreds of successful Nanny-Family partnerships, both locally and nationally. She has taught classes on resume-writing, interviewing skills. career development, etiquette, communication skills, family dynamics, and much more.
